Follow Friday/ Book Blogger Hop (7)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee!

This week's question is:

Do you judge book's by their cover?

Yep! I'm the number one criminal of that offence. The 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' is a good saying metaphorically, but not so much when it applies to books in my opinion. These days, a book cover is what sells the book to you when you're in a book shop. There are whole teams of people to work on book covers. That's why I think there's no excuse for a bad cover, or one that either doesn't match the story or live up to it.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books!

....and today's question isn't up yet. Not to fear, it'll be up soon.

  1. New follower :) And I also judge a book by its cover. Hard not it really.

Come check out my blog if you have time :)

  2. I agree there's no excuse for a bad cover with all of the graphic designers out there working on them. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!

  3. I agree with you and am still surprised when I see new books with bad covers.
    Truly Bookish

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! It's nice to meet ya. I love your blog background, it's pretty. I'm following you back. Happy Friday!

  5. I agree! The better cover is going to get the book atleast picked up. I'm already a follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  6. You are right - they SHOULD and often Do spend a lot of time and money on cover design -- so, you shouldn't feel like a criminal for paying attention! Happy Reading!

  7. I think if you are going to take a lot of time and effort over a book it's a crying shame not to give it a decent cover, as lots of us do judge a book by them. Just stopping by on FF. Have a great weekend.

  8. Oh, I am the same way about covers that don't match the story---there's really no excuse for that!

New follower here! Glad to have found your blog! :)

  9. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog -

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?
